Sharing Some Photography

I was commenting on my friend's photography blog and decided I really ought to share some of my photographic efforts.  They're hardly professional and the post-processing is done in the Google+ editing suite because I'm rubbish with GIMP/PhotoShop, but I'm going to share them somewhere and it might as well be here!

I had originally planned to share them on Twitter, but there's a 3MB size limit on photos there, which is rather ridiculous.

Anyway, let's make a start...

Here's a couple of snaps I took on a recent trip to Scotland to plan the next Chronicle Rally route:

The A93 "Old Military Road" between Bridge of Cally and Braemar in Aberdeenshire.
We stopped here briefly for a break, as we had already driven all the way from South Warwickshire and we were closing in on Inverness.  This was an unexpected and very long straight in the middle of an otherwise mountainous area - the straight behind us was probably twice as long!  You can see how the road snakes into the hills in the distance.

A fence post succumbing to nature
Now, I'm one of these odd photographers who likes to photograph things most people wouldn't give a second glance.  I especially like to see nature assimilating Man's work, and that's what I saw in this fence post.

Yes, it's a wooden post, which is kind of natural anyway, but it is almost completely covered with lichen.

The wire that makes up the fence is also sufficiently oxidised that it has started blending in with the brown hues of the landscape behind.

I saw the fence post, rusty wire and grassy hillside contrasted against the rugged, snow-capped mountain in the background and the rich blue sky above, and I just had to snap it.

You probably think it's boring.  And over-processed.  And you're probably right!

This was in the same spot as the road picture above.  I just went for a bit of a stroll up & down the road...

And no trip to Scotland would be complete without a photograph of a loch and mountains.  I shan't disappoint...

Loch, mountains, low cloud, scrub land - how Scottish!
And I'll leave you with another fence post.  With string on it.

There were so many amazing sights on this trip and I would have loved to have been able to spend ages taking lots of photos.  Alas, there was a job to be done.  A really, really awesome job!

So, there's a wee selection of photos shared for all the world to see.  You're free to use them as you see fit, but I'd appreciate it if you could include a link to the blog if you do share them.  The first photo with the road should also be attributed to Chronicle Rally.
